Eagle Scout Project Enhances Wood-Shaving Enclosure

My name is William Watkins and I am a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 498. I am in the process of pursuing the rank of Eagle Scout and one of the requirements is that I do a community service project. I’ve ridden horses at Retama since middle school so I thought it only natural to do my project for The Saddle Light Center. After some input from Director Kerstin Fosdick, we agreed that a great project would be to fix the wood-shaving enclosure. My project work was to stain and install sheets of plywood onto the fence surrounding the shavings, so as to contain the shavings as well as make it look nicer. I was pleased with the end results,(see photo),and it helped that the paint on the enclosure almost matches the barns!
